The one that decides it for most people here: Superwhisper is a Mac app, so there's no Android version to compare. Betterflo does voice dictation for any app on Android — the phone most of India actually types on.
Superwhisper transcribes the clip after you stop, so you feel a short wait — around a second and a half — on every dictation. Betterflo streams text as you speak too, but only on phones with enough headroom to run it; on the two lightest tiers it waits for you to finish, the same way Superwhisper does. This is the difference that matters most, and it's on purpose. Generic dictation wasn't built for the way India switches Hindi and English inside one sentence — Betterflo is. That's Eleven Indian languages today, tuned for exactly that kind of mid-sentence code-switching.
Both run on your device by default — a real strength Superwhisper shares. Our optional cloud Pro tier is planned and would be opt-in and clearly disclosed; it isn't in this build.
Straight up: our automatic pass is deliberately narrow. It fixes casing and punctuation and leaves your sentence alone — it won't reword what you said. Rewording is something you ask for: Fix, Tone, Rewrite and Translate sit in a bar above the keys and run on your phone, and the result is offered beside your own line, so keeping your wording is one of the answers. Superwhisper does this too, on the Mac. Ours is gated by the phone, not by a plan: Fix, Tone and Rewrite need a small model you download and never appear on the lowest device tier, and Translate works on every tier.
Straight up: Superwhisper is the more mature product on desktop — years of polish, deeper macOS integrations, a wider set of languages and models, and a proven license option. Betterflo is younger, Android-only today, and focused. We're not trying to out-Mac a good Mac app; we're building the private, bilingual voice dictation your phone doesn't have yet.
The reasons Betterflo exists aren't features you can bolt onto a desktop app — they come from the device, the language, and the network.
On Android, dictation has to work inside every app — chat, forms, search. Betterflo's floating mic (plus its keyboard) run system-wide; a desktop app can't reach into your phone's apps.
People here don't dictate in tidy English or tidy Hindi — they braid them. Generic models flatten that; Betterflo is tuned for the switch instead of fighting it.
On the move, in a basement, on the metro — on-device by default means dictation still works with no connection, and your voice isn't shipped off by default to make it happen.
